Online Menus

Create beautiful, shareable online menus that showcase your food and beverages to customers.

What Are Online Menus?

Online menus are public-facing pages that display your food or beverage offerings. Puree designs the page to fit the style of your website, so it looks and feels like part of your own brand. Unlike the order form (where customers place orders), online menus are read-only — they're designed for browsing and sharing. Think of them as your digital menu board that you can send to prospective customers or link from your website.

Creating a Menu

Navigate to Online → Menus and click New Menu. Choose whether it's a food or beverages menu, give it a name (e.g. "Summer Canapés" or "Wine List"), and optionally add a description.

You can create as many menus as you need — seasonal menus, event-specific menus, or separate menus for different types of catering. Menus can be reordered by dragging them into your preferred order.

Adding Items to a Menu

Edit the menu to select which item categories and individual items to include. For food menus, you'll see your menu item categories; for beverage menus, you'll see your beverage categories. Toggle items on or off and set the display price for each.

Items are pulled from your existing Items & Categories, so any changes to item names, descriptions, or dietary codes will be reflected on the menu automatically.

Customising the Appearance

Each menu can be customised with:

  • Hero image — Upload a banner image with layout options (standard, full width, or tall) and an optional gradient overlay
  • Description — Add a rich text description placed either above the menu items or below the hero image

The menu automatically displays item names, descriptions, dietary codes, and photos (if attached to the item). The layout is clean and mobile-friendly.

Sharing Your Menus

Each menu has a unique public URL that you can share with customers, embed on your website, or include in proposals. The URL includes your business name, making it look professional and branded.

Managing Menus

From the menus index page you can:

  • Reorder — Drag menus to change their display order
  • Edit — Update items, images, and descriptions
  • Delete — Soft-delete menus you no longer need (they can be restored later)
  • View deleted — Toggle to see and restore previously deleted menus

Tips

  • Use high-quality hero images to make a strong first impression
  • Keep menu descriptions concise — customers want to scan quickly
  • Create seasonal menus and archive old ones rather than constantly editing a single menu
  • Attach photos to your items — they'll appear automatically on the online menu
  • Use separate food and beverage menus to keep things organised
