Learn how to use menu headers to group items in quotes based on when they'll be served.
Categories organise your inventory (e.g., Baking, Hot Food, Platters). Menu headers organise how items appear on customer quotes (e.g., Morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea).
For example, you can group cheese scones from your Baking category and fresh fruit platters from your Platters category under a single "Morning Tea" header. The same item can appear under different menu headers in different quotes.
For more information, see our article Categories vs Menu Headers.
Navigate to Settings and select Menu Headers. Create headers that describe meal services (e.g., "Breakfast", "Morning Tea", "Lunch", "Afternoon Tea", "Dinner").
Drag and drop to reorder them. This determines the order they appear in quotes. For example, "Morning Tea" should appear before "Lunch".
When creating or editing a quote, you can assign menu headers to items or leave them blank.
Items are displayed under their category names (e.g., "Baking", "Platters").
Items are grouped under the menu header. Category names are hidden. For each item, use the Menu Header dropdown to select when it will be served.
If you need a menu header whilst creating a quote, click Add a menu header in the quote form. Enter the name in the slide-over panel and click create. The new header is immediately available in the dropdown and saved for future quotes.
For a morning tea order, add cheese scones (from Baking category) and select "Morning Tea" as the menu header. Add fresh fruit platters (from Platters category) and select "Morning Tea" as the menu header. When you save the quote, both items appear grouped under "Morning Tea" and the category names are hidden.
