Introducing Dietary Codes Feature in Puree.app

By Andrew Hemphill on 03 March, 2025

We're excited to introduce our new Dietary Codes feature in Puree.app, designed to help caterers clearly communicate dietary information on menu items across quotes, chef dockets, online menus and order forms etc.

What are Dietary Codes?

Dietary Codes are the small identifiers (like "GF" for Gluten-Free or "V" for Vegetarian) that you can now attach to your menu items. These codes will automatically appear on all your documents, making it easy for clients and staff to identify items with specific dietary characteristics.

How to Set Up Dietary Codes

Setting up Dietary Codes in Puree is simple:

  1. Go to Settings and find the new Dietary Codes option
  2. Click Create to add a new dietary code
  3. Enter a short code (up to 3 letters) and the full name of the dietary restriction
  4. Create as many codes as you need for your menu items
  5. Edit your menu items and select the appropriate dietary codes

Benefits of Using Dietary Codes

  • Professional Presentation: A standardised key of dietary codes appears automatically on your quotes
  • Clear Communication: Easily communicate dietary information to clients and kitchen staff
  • Consistency: Maintain consistent dietary labelling across all your documents
  • Flexibility: Create custom codes specific to your business needs
  • Hover Information: Clients can hover over codes to see the full description
